Do these things as soon as you have created your WordPress Installation otherwise, there will be tears.

- Update to the Latest version of WordPress
- Install a backup plugin. If you don’t know which one to install, install UpdraftPlus.
- Set up an external backup site. If you don’t know which one to use, set up a Dropbox account., to see how to do that, click on this link –
- Take a backup
- Turn on debugging. To learn how to turn debugging on and off click here. Install the log viewer plugin
Having done this, you then have all the tools you need if something goes seriously wrong.
